Mr Head was elected to the IB Heads Council with a keen desire to drive innovation within the IB programme and to bring reform to the IB Diploma. 

The IB Heads Council recently worked with the world’s number 1 management consultancy firm McKinsey and Company in developing the ‘IB future of education 2030 strategy’ and it’s through this work – which used advanced modelling techniques to form insights into the future of work across the world – that Mr Head advanced his thinking on what education must be like today to meet the needs of tomorrow’s world.

Now in Suzhou, China, and as the head of Suzhou Innovation Academy, Mr Head brings with him his unique vision for the future of the IB program and education to our own school and to the region of Suzhou.

He has a deep understanding of what colleges and universities are looking for in their applicants and how students can successfully differentiate themselves in their pursuits beyond Suzhou Innovation Academy. 

Mr Head’s IB journey began 28 years ago in 1993 at Presbyterian Ladies College in Melbourne, which still today ranks as one of the top schools in Victoria, Australia, and number 1 in 2019.

He has since worked across the world in Portugal, Kenya, Oman, Germany, and now China.

Each experience continues to broadened his perspectives and drive his passion for innovation in education.
